Bengal Steel Industries reported standalone revenue from operations of Rs. 15 lakhs for Q2 FY26, flat year-on-year, taking H1 FY26 revenue to Rs. 30 lakhs versus Rs. 27 lakhs in H1 FY25. Standalone net profit after tax for Q2 came in at Rs. 6.66 lakhs (down from Rs. 9.06 lakhs in Q2 FY25), while H1 FY26 PAT stood at Rs. 12.23 lakhs versus a near-zero Rs. 0.15 lakhs in H1 FY25. The sharp jump in half-yearly profit is largely driven by a steep fall in 'other expenses' (Rs. 21.72 lakhs to Rs. 9.86 lakhs). The company continues to function with negligible operating activity (revenue is essentially Rs. 15 lakhs a quarter) while holding investments worth Rs. 415.66 lakhs. The balance sheet remains debt-free with equity of Rs. 1,018 lakhs and cash of Rs. 116.73 lakhs. Limited review by auditor S. Ghose & Co LLP was clean and unqualified.
Results show a technical profit jump, but Q2 standalone PAT actually declined year-on-year and the H1 spike is driven by lower discretionary spending rather than business expansion. For shareholders, the stock remains more of a small investment-holding entity than an active operating business, so headline profit numbers should be read with caution.
