The Board of Bengal Tea & Fabrics Ltd approved unaudited Q1 FY26 results on August 13, 2025. Revenue from operations stood at ₹917 lakhs, down from ₹1,120 lakhs in Q1 FY25 (a decline of about 18% year-on-year). However, other income surged sharply to ₹929 lakhs from ₹371 lakhs, lifting total income to ₹1,846 lakhs (vs ₹1,491 lakhs). Profit before tax from continuing operations improved to ₹843 lakhs from ₹413 lakhs, and profit after tax from continuing operations nearly doubled to ₹610 lakhs (₹3.60 EPS) from ₹324 lakhs (₹3.60 EPS in the prior quarter, ₹1.85 in Q1 FY25 from continuing ops). The company has shut down all segments except Tea, making it a single-segment business. A clean limited review report was issued by Jain & Co., Chartered Accountants with no qualifications.
Despite a drop in core tea revenue, sharply higher other income and lower costs lifted profits meaningfully, which is positive for shareholders. The completion of the restructuring to a pure-play tea company simplifies the business but concentrates risk in a single segment — investors should watch monsoon and commodity price trends for the tea business.
