Betex India reported weak Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) results. Revenue from operations fell to Rs. 2113.82 lakh from Rs. 2288.52 lakh in the same quarter last year, a decline of about 7.6%. Net profit dropped sharply to just Rs. 1.15 lakh versus Rs. 40.46 lakh in Q1 FY25, a fall of nearly 97%, translating to EPS of Rs. 0.08 (vs Rs. 2.70). The steep fall in profitability was driven by higher employee costs (up ~21% YoY) and other expenses, even as raw material costs came down. On the governance side, statutory auditor M/s. C.P. Jaria & Co. resigned and M/s. H T K S & Co. was appointed to fill the casual vacancy. The board also re-appointed Mr. Mahesh Kumar Somani as Non-Executive Director, fixed September 15, 2025 as the date for the 38th AGM, and approved the Directors' Report for FY25.
The sharp YoY drop in profits despite only a modest revenue decline signals serious margin pressure that shareholders should watch closely. The mid-year change of statutory auditor is a governance red flag worth monitoring for any further disclosures on the reasons behind the switch.
