Bhagiradha Chemicals reported Q1 FY26 standalone revenue of Rs. 12,377.78 lakhs, up about 11.7% from Rs. 11,077.76 lakhs in Q1 FY25. Standalone profit after tax rose to Rs. 828.73 lakhs from Rs. 723.15 lakhs, a 14.6% jump, but this was largely helped by a Rs. 307.75 lakhs one-time deferred tax gain from opting for the lower 22% corporate tax rate. Operating profit before tax actually fell about 36% to Rs. 721.31 lakhs, and financial costs more than doubled to Rs. 293.12 lakhs. On a consolidated basis, revenue grew to Rs. 12,377.78 lakhs but PAT dropped sharply to Rs. 397.91 lakhs from Rs. 570.65 lakhs, a 30% decline. The auditors issued an unmodified (clean) limited review opinion on both sets of results.
Top-line growth is decent but margins are clearly under pressure, with finance costs rising sharply and consolidated bottom-line shrinking a third year-on-year. Shareholders should note the large Rs. 36,753 lakhs loan to the subsidiary Bheema Fine Chemicals being converted into equity, which is a significant capital restructuring at the group level and will affect consolidated leverage and minority interests going forward.
