Bharat Coking Coal Limited's board met on February 13, 2026, and approved two pricing-related decisions. First, revised Surface Transportation Charges (STC) for all coal and coal product sales, effective retrospectively from September 26, 2025. New rates range from Rs 172 per tonne (0-3 km lead distance) to Rs 275 per tonne (10-20 km), with longer distances charged at actual cost plus 10%. Second, the board approved cash discounts for raw coking coal booked through rail mode under the CIL e-auction Scheme 2022 for auctions held till March 2026. Discounts range from Rs 100 per tonne (10-14 rakes) to Rs 200 per tonne (20 or more rakes) per bidder per auction per cluster.
The revised STC rates will adjust BCCL's logistics cost recovery on coal dispatches, while the cash discount scheme aims to incentivise bulk rail bookings and higher volumes under e-auctions. Both are operational pricing tweaks and unlikely to materially move the stock, though they may modestly support auction-driven volumes through March 2026.
