Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) is setting up two new manufacturing facilities — one at Ibrahimpatnam in Hyderabad, Telangana and another at Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh. The Ibrahimpatnam unit will have eight assembly lines for new weapon systems along with rocket motor and warhead penetration testing facilities. The Jhansi unit, located in the UP defence corridor, will focus on manufacturing propellants, bulk production of grad rockets, and in-house R&D for new energetics. Both facilities are expected to be inaugurated shortly, with production commencing in FY 2026-27. BDL stated these additions are aligned with its current order book of around Rs. 26,000 crore and an expected additional Rs. 15,000 crore in orders during FY 2026-27.
This capacity expansion signals strong growth visibility for BDL backed by a robust order book, which should support future revenue growth. The new facilities for propellants and advanced weapons also indicate diversification, which is positive for long-term shareholders.
