Bharat Rasayan Limited posted strong Q1 FY26 results on a standalone basis, with revenue from operations rising about 34% year-on-year to Rs 377.4 crore (from Rs 282.2 crore) and profit after tax jumping roughly 63% to Rs 43.66 crore (from Rs 26.8 crore). Operating margin expanded sharply to 19.76% from 13.49% a year ago, driven by stable pricing, global demand, pest infestation and a favourable monsoon. The company booked an exceptional expense of Rs 14.78 crore for Environmental Damage Compensation linked to the May 2022 Dahej plant fire (paid under protest, with the matter now in the Supreme Court). On a consolidated basis, PAT dipped to Rs 39.66 crore from Rs 43.12 crore due to a forex-driven loss at its joint venture Nissan Bharat Rasayan.
Strong operational performance and margin expansion are positive for shareholders, though the one-off Dahej fire compensation and JV forex loss slightly temper the consolidated earnings picture. The proposed Rs 1.50 per share final dividend, strong credit ratings (CARE AA-/A1+) and appointment of a new independent director are routine shareholder-friendly updates.
