Bharat Wire Ropes shared its Q1-FY26 investor presentation. Revenue grew 6.1% year-on-year to INR 1,417 Mn, but profits came under pressure with EBITDA falling 7.7% YoY to INR 301 Mn (margin at 21.24%, down 318 basis points) and PAT declining 13.8% YoY to INR 156 Mn. The company said global geopolitical tensions and tariff-related uncertainty are making buyers postpone orders, putting pressure on pricing and volumes, though it managed to hold volumes through competitive pricing. Volumes inched up to 9,261 MT from 9,151 MT. The company continues to focus on value-added products, cost optimisation, and geographical expansion (exports to 55+ countries). On the positive side, total debt has been cut from INR 1,817 Mn in FY23 to INR 1,311 Mn in FY25, and debt restructuring has been completed.
Mixed quarter for shareholders — top-line growth is steady, but sharp YoY drop in profits and margins signals near-term earnings pressure from weak global demand and tariffs. However, falling debt and improving net worth support balance sheet strength. Short-term stock sentiment may stay cautious until pricing pressure eases.
