Bharti Airtel filed the transcript of its Q1 FY2026 earnings call held on August 6, 2025. Consolidated revenue came in at Rs 49,463 crore, while India revenue (excluding Indus Towers) was Rs 33,820 crore with EBITDAaL margin improving 65 basis points sequentially to 51.4%. Operating free cash flow stood at Rs 11,928 crore, and the company redeemed $1 billion in senior notes during the quarter, bringing India net debt to EBITDAaL down to 1.3x, supported by a CRISIL rating upgrade. Mobile business added 1.2 million customers (including 0.7 million postpaid) and now has 152 million 5G customers, while broadband posted its highest-ever quarterly net adds of 939,000. Management highlighted the launch of Airtel Cloud (targeting a Rs 60,000 crore market), digital segment growth of 23%, won deals with Singtel and Globe Telecom, and Africa revenue growing 6.7% in constant currency with EBITDAaL margin near 37%.
Positive for shareholders — the company showed steady margin expansion, strong free cash flow, and ongoing deleveraging, while opening a new growth avenue in Cloud and software services. Rising dividends and a healthy balance sheet leave room for either higher payouts or acquisitions in adjacencies like data centres and cybersecurity.
