Airtel Business, the enterprise arm of Bharti Airtel, has launched an industry-first 'Business Name Display' (BND) service that lets businesses show their verified brand name on the recipient's mobile screen during outgoing calls. The service aims to solve an unintended consequence of Airtel's spam-fighting network, where legitimate business calls were being tagged as spam, causing customers to miss important calls from banks, hospitals, couriers, and food delivery services. BND was piloted with 250+ companies across banking, retail, food delivery, mobility, quick commerce, and logistics, using 1.5 million+ phone numbers to make 12.8 million calls in the last 30 days, resulting in a notable increase in customer engagement. Businesses can activate the service by registering on the Airtel Business online portal.
