Bharti Airtel has launched 'Priority Postpaid', a new service that uses 5G network slicing technology to provide superior and more consistent connectivity to postpaid customers. The service intelligently segments network capacity to ensure stable performance during high-traffic periods. This is the first such launch in India, following similar services rolled out in the USA, Singapore, UK, and Malaysia over the past year. The service is automatically available to existing postpaid customers, with plans ranging from ₹449 to ₹1,749 + GST, bundled with benefits like unlimited data, spam alerts, cloud storage, and streaming subscriptions. MD & CEO Shashwat Sharma called it a meaningful innovation combining advanced technology with customer-centric innovation.
The first-mover launch of 5G slicing-based Priority Postpaid in India positions Airtel as a technology leader and could help attract and retain high-value postpaid customers, potentially boosting ARPU. Existing postpaid users get automatic access, which may improve customer loyalty.
