BHEL has announced a change in its Part-time Official (Government Nominee) Director. Ms. Nigar Fatima Husain, currently Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor at the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and Ministry of Heavy Industries, has been appointed as a Government Nominee Director on the Board of BHEL effective 27.04.2026. She replaces Shri Asit Gopal, who was Special Secretary & Financial Adviser (SS & FA) and has consequently ceased to be a Director on BHEL's Board. Ms. Husain comes from the Indian Defence Estates Service (1996 batch) and has extensive experience in various government roles including CEO positions at multiple Cantonments and Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs.
