Biocon Limited has submitted the Monitoring Agency Report from India Ratings & Research for the quarter ended December 31, 2025, covering utilization of ₹45,000 million raised through a Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP) in June 2025. The QIP involved 13.63 crore equity shares issued at ₹330 per share. During the quarter, ₹15,090 million was deployed, taking cumulative utilization to ₹38,742.15 million, leaving ₹6,257.85 million unutilized. Funds were used for buying back optionally convertible debentures of subsidiary Biocon Biologics from Goldman Sachs schemes (fully done at ₹16,980.46 million), repaying company borrowings (₹21,077.68 million of ₹27,150 million allocated), and covering issue expenses (₹684.01 million of ₹700 million). The unutilized ₹6,257.85 million is parked in money market mutual funds. No deviation from the stated objects was observed, and ₹119.54 million saved on the Biocon Biologics OCD purchase (due to exchange rate fluctuation) was reallocated to General Corporate Purposes.
The report confirms disciplined and compliant use of QIP proceeds with no deviations, which is a positive governance signal for shareholders. The remaining unutilized ~₹626 crore parked in liquid mutual funds is also a modest positive, as it suggests funds are being preserved safely until deployment, while ongoing debt repayment supports the company's deleveraging efforts.
