Birla Corporation posted strong Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) results, with consolidated revenue rising 12.6% YoY to Rs 2,486 crore and net profit jumping 263.6% to Rs 120 crore. Consolidated EBITDA grew 37.8% to Rs 379 crore, supported by a 9.1% rise in sales volume to 4.8 million tons, lower power and fuel costs (down 8.4% to Rs 933/ton), and a turnaround in the Jute Division (cash profit of Rs 6.4 crore vs a loss of Rs 3.9 crore last year). Cement EBITDA rose 34% to Rs 364 crore with EBITDA per ton up 18.6% to Rs 715, while blended cement made up 89% of sales and premium brands (Perfect Plus +19%, Unique Plus +37%) drove trade channel growth to 78%. Growth was uneven geographically — east (+18%) and west (+15%) were strong, but central India remained weak and early monsoon onset pressured prices and demand overall.
This is a clearly positive quarter — a sharp jump in profit and EBITDA driven by lower input costs and a better product mix (more blended and premium cement). However, clinker output fell 17% due to extended maintenance shutdowns and central India demand stayed soft, which could cap the upside if those pressures persist. Investors should track whether the Mukutban ramp-up and Chanderia expansion sustain this margin trajectory in upcoming quarters.
