Blue Star Limited has filed its Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR) for the financial year ending March 31, 2025, as required by SEBI's listing regulations. The company, which manufactures air conditioners, commercial cooling products and executes electro-mechanical projects, reported a turnover of about Rs. 11,326 crore and a net worth of around Rs. 2,854 crore on a standalone basis. Its total workforce stood at 7,689 people (3,187 permanent employees and 386 permanent workers plus contract staff), with women making up about 9% of employees and 16.67% of the Board. Blue Star has committed to becoming Net Zero for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2035, and increased R&D spend on environmental technologies to 51.37% of total R&D (up from 30.32% last year), while 64% of inputs were sourced sustainably. The report was independently assured by Intertek India on a reasonable-assurance basis for the BRSR Core.
This is a routine, mandatory annual ESG disclosure and is unlikely to move the stock on its own. However, it gives investors a clear view of Blue Star's sustainability targets, supply-chain risks, workforce diversity and governance practices, which can support longer-term ESG-focused investing and help the company access green capital.
