Blue Star Limited reported its Q1FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) consolidated results with revenue from operations growing 4.1% year-on-year to Rs 2,982.25 crores. However, profitability took a hit — operating profit (EBITDA) fell to Rs 199.99 crores (6.7% margin) from Rs 237.83 crores (8.3% margin), and net profit declined to Rs 120.82 crores from Rs 168.76 crores in Q1FY25. Earnings per share dropped to Rs 5.88 from Rs 8.81. The weak performance was driven by unseasonal rains and a mild summer that hurt the Room Air Conditioners business, which saw its segment (Unitary Products) revenue fall 13.3%. On the positive side, the B2B Electro-Mechanical Projects and Commercial Air Conditioning segment grew 35.9%, and the carried-forward order book rose 12.5% to Rs 6,843 crores, indicating strong future revenue visibility.
Mixed results for shareholders — topline growth was modest, but bottomline contracted sharply with a ~28% drop in pre-tax profit due to weaker consumer-facing AC demand and margin compression. The strong order book and robust B2B segment growth provide some comfort for the rest of FY26, but near-term sentiment may be cautious given the earnings miss and lower net cash position.
