BNR Udyog posted a profit after tax of Rs. 27.63 lakhs for Q1 FY26 (ended 30 June 2025), up sharply from Rs. 7.74 lakhs in the same quarter last year, translating to basic EPS of Rs. 0.92 versus Rs. 0.26. Revenue from operations, however, fell to Rs. 51.92 lakhs from Rs. 61.84 lakhs a year ago, a decline of roughly 16% year-on-year. Total expenses dropped significantly to Rs. 27.24 lakhs from Rs. 54.87 lakhs, helped by a Rs. 38.92 lakh fair-value gain on shares compared to an Rs. 11.58 lakh loss in the prior-year quarter. The auditor (Laxminiwas & Co) issued an unqualified review report with no qualifications or emphasis-of-matter flags. The board also appointed Mr. Janampalli Vikramdev Rao as the new Chairperson with effect from 12 August 2025.
The strong PAT jump is largely driven by mark-to-market gains on investments rather than core operating performance, so shareholders should treat it cautiously. The dip in operating revenue and the change in board leadership are the key items to watch in coming quarters.
