CRISIL has revised the outlook on Bombay Dyeing's long-term bank facilities and fixed deposits to 'Stable' from 'Positive', while reaffirming the rating at CRISIL BBB+. The short-term rating on bank loan facilities is also reaffirmed at CRISIL A2+. The total bank loan facilities rated stand at Rs. 501 crore, and fixed deposits at Rs. 0.3 crore. The outlook revision is driven by a moderation in operating profitability of the polyester staple fibre (PSF) segment in H1 FY2026, mainly because of weaker export sales to the USA (exports dropped from 33-34% to 16% of revenues). The company remains debt-free with around Rs. 1,300 crore in cash and liquid investments as of September 30, 2025, and is preparing to launch a new real estate project in Q4 FY2026.
The outlook revision is a mild negative signal — the rating itself was not downgraded, but the loss of the Positive outlook indicates CRISIL sees less near-term upside. For shareholders, the strong balance sheet (no debt, ~Rs. 1,300 crore liquidity) cushions the impact, but weak PSF margins and subdued exports remain near-term watchpoints.
