Indian benchmark indices ended sharply lower on July 22, with the Sensex falling 715 points (0.92%) to 76,755.05 and the Nifty 50 declining 191 points (0.79%) to 23,996.25, while midcap and smallcap indices fell 1.09% and 1.54% respectively. Bank Nifty also slipped 1.23% to 57,126.80, slipping below its 20-day EMA. Technical analyst Sumeet Bagadia of Choice Broking recommended five breakout stocks to buy on July 23: Chennai Petroleum Corporation (buy around ₹1,307, target ₹1,400), Gandhar Oil Refinery India, Polyplex Corp, Divgi TorqTransfer Systems, and Aegis Logistics.
