Brent oil tops $90 as US, Iran intensify attacks in Middle East

Brent crude futures climbed 3.05 percent to $90.79 per barrel, the highest since June 11, after gaining 15.9 percent last week, its biggest weekly rise since April. US West Texas Intermediate rose 2.65 percent to $84.68, also the highest since June 12. Prices surged as US-Iran conflict escalated with attacks on shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, which handles about one-fifth of global oil trade, raising concerns about supply disruptions.
