Brookfield India REIT's manager (Brookprop Management Services) announced three key decisions from its March 31, 2026 board meeting. Shashank Jain, currently Co-Head of Deals Practice at PwC India with 25+ years of experience in real estate, private equity, and M&A advisory, will be appointed as the new CEO and Managing Director effective July 1, 2026. Current CEO Alok Aggarwal, who has led BIRET since inception, will retire on June 30, 2026. Additionally, Charu Thapar (30+ years in real estate, ex-JLL Asia Pacific) and Gaurav Bhatia (20+ years in real estate leasing) have been designated as key personnel effective April 1, 2026. The board also approved issuance of listed commercial papers worth up to ₹1,000 crore with maturity of up to 1 year.
The well-planned leadership transition brings in a senior real estate and advisory professional as CEO, which is generally viewed positively by investors. The ₹1,000 crore commercial paper program strengthens short-term funding capacity, signaling healthy cash management and growth preparedness for unit holders.
