Awaiting price reaction for this filing.
Brookfield India Real Estate Trust has filed its quarterly unitholding pattern for Q2 FY26 (ended September 30, 2025). Total outstanding units stand at 640.01 million, with the Sponsor and Sponsor Group holding 160.78 million units (25.12%) and the Public holding the remaining 479.23 million units (74.88%). A notable 144.70 million units held by the Sponsor group (about 90% of sponsor holdings) are pledged or otherwise encumbered, primarily by the foreign body corporate sponsor entity (91.93% of its units). Among public unitholders, Mutual Funds lead institutional ownership at 16.54% (105.88 million units), followed by Insurance Companies at 11.39% (72.87 million units) and Foreign Portfolio Investors at 11.52% (73.73 million units). Non-institutional investors, mostly individuals and domestic bodies corporates, together hold about 25.92% of units.
The very high pledge ratio on sponsor units (90%) is a key risk indicator for unitholders, as it reflects leveraged sponsor exposure and could create volatility if margin calls arise. Strong institutional participation, especially from mutual funds and insurance companies (nearly 30% combined), signals broad market confidence in the REIT.
