BSE Limited has completed the acquisition of 16,000 equity shares (40% stake) in Social Stock Exchange Capacity Building Foundation, a newly incorporated Section 8 Company. The acquisition cost is ₹1,60,000 out of total paid-up capital of ₹4,00,000. The company was incorporated on April 7, 2026, and is jointly promoted by NABARD, SIDBI, NSE, and BSE. SEBI approval was obtained under Regulation 38(2) of SCRR, 2018. The foundation aims to strengthen the social finance and impact investing ecosystem in India through capacity building and training for Non-Profit and For-Profit Organizations aligned with SSE objectives. Upon RBI approval for NABARD/SIDBI stakes beyond 10%, shareholding will be diluted to 25% each for all four promoters.
This is a small strategic investment (₹1.6 lakh) in a newly formed not-for-profit entity focused on Social Stock Exchange ecosystem development. The financial impact on BSE is negligible, and this is a regulatory-driven initiative rather than a commercial acquisition. No material impact expected on BSE's stock price.
