BSE Limited has received approval from SEBI to launch derivative contracts on a new index called 'BSE SENSEX Next 30 Index'. This index will track the next 30 largest and most liquid companies within the BSE 100 that are eligible for derivatives but are not part of the existing BSE Sensex 30. BSE will offer cash-settled monthly index futures and monthly index options, with expiry on the last Thursday of each expiry period. The new product aims to broaden BSE's derivatives portfolio beyond the benchmark Sensex 50 contracts it currently hosts. The announcement was made to the stock exchange on March 4, 2026.
This is a positive development for BSE as it expands the exchange's derivatives product line, potentially driving higher trading volumes and transaction fee income. It strengthens BSE's competitive position against NSE in the index derivatives segment and could support long-term revenue growth.
