Canara Bank reported strong Q2 FY26 results with Net Profit rising 18.93% year-on-year to ₹4,774 crore and an all-time high Operating Profit of ₹8,588 crore (up 12.20% YoY). Global business grew 13.55% YoY to ₹26.79 lakh crore, with advances up 13.74% to ₹11.51 lakh crore and deposits up 13.4% to ₹15.27 lakh crore. Asset quality improved sharply — Gross NPA fell to 2.35% (down 138 bps) and Net NPA to 0.54%, while Provision Coverage Ratio rose to 93.59%. Management guided NIM to stabilise around 2.5% for one more quarter and recover to 2.9–3% from Q4 onwards, with CASA at 30.69% against a 32% year-end target. FY26 Net Profit is expected to cross ₹20,000 crore, Q3 will include a ₹1,935 crore one-time gain from IPOs of Canara Robeco and Canara HSBC, and credit pipeline stands at ₹50,000–55,000 crore.
Positive for shareholders — improving asset quality, record operating profit, and a clear NIM recovery roadmap from Q4 support earnings momentum. The ₹1,935 crore one-time gain in Q3 will further boost reported profits, while a strong undisbursed pipeline of over ₹50,000 crore sustains growth visibility.
