Capital India Finance, an NBFC, reported its audited results for Q4 and FY25 on May 14, 2025. On a standalone basis, FY25 profit after tax fell sharply to Rs 11.78 crore from Rs 20.10 crore in FY24, a ~41% drop, with Q4 profit down to Rs 1.13 crore from Rs 5.41 crore a year ago. Total income dipped to Rs 184.45 crore (FY24: Rs 194.66 crore). On a consolidated basis, the company swung to a wider loss of Rs 10.22 crore in FY25 vs Rs 6.43 crore loss in FY24, hurt by Rs 22 crore loss at the subsidiary level, mainly Rapipay Fintech. The board recommended a modest final dividend of Rs 0.02 per share (1%) on the post-split face value of Rs 2, subject to shareholder approval. Qualified borrowings rose from Rs 550.49 crore to Rs 665.17 crore during the year, and long-term credit rating stands at A/Stable. The company also noted ongoing divestment of its housing finance arm Capital India Home Loans to Weaver Services for Rs 266.53 crore, pending regulatory clearances, and a SMP-designation change where the COO was re-designated as Chief of Service Delivery.
Sharply lower standalone profits and a wider consolidated loss point to weaker core earnings and ongoing subsidiary drag, which is negative for sentiment. The token 1% dividend suggests tight cash distribution, but the proposed Rs 266 crore exit from the loss-making housing finance arm and improved capital adequacy (CRAR 36%) are positive if approvals come through.
