Capital Infra Trust, an Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT), has received a credit rating of ICRA AAA with a Stable outlook from ICRA Limited. The rating covers a long-term fund-based term loan of Rs. 1,750 crore, split between HDFC Bank (Rs. 618 crore) and Union Bank of India (Rs. 1,132 crore). An Issuer Rating of ICRA AAA/Stable was also assigned. AAA is the highest investment-grade rating, indicating the strongest capacity to meet financial obligations. The Stable outlook suggests ICRA expects the rating to hold over the next 12 months. This is a fresh assignment of rating, not an upgrade from a prior rating.
Positive for shareholders and unit holders — the AAA rating with Stable outlook means the trust has access to low-cost debt from top-rated lenders, supporting its infrastructure financing operations and reducing borrowing costs. This typically boosts investor confidence in the InvIT's instruments.
