Capital Infra Trust, an infrastructure investment trust (InvIT) with 12 road assets, had its credit rating reaffirmed at 'Crisil AAA/Stable' on February 3, 2026. The reaffirmation covers two Non-Convertible Debenture issues of Rs 974.71 crore and Rs 944.66 crore (both reduced from Rs 1,200 crore via partial redemption) along with the corporate credit rating. In December 2025, the trust completed the acquisition of three additional HAM road SPVs from its sponsor Gawar Construction, funded through a Rs 1,250 crore QIP and Rs 1,150 crore of debt. In November 2025, the trust raised Rs 345 crore via a preferential issue to the sponsor and used proceeds plus Rs 75 crore internal accruals to prepay Rs 420 crore of external NCD debt, reducing leverage from 55% to 45.6% and improving DSCR to 1.9-2.1 times.
The AAA rating reaffirmation signals strong financial health and creditworthiness. The debt prepayment, reduced leverage, and comfortable DSCR are positive for unitholders. The rating outlook remains Stable with no negative triggers.
