Caprihans India reported FY25 standalone revenue from operations of Rs 737.85 crores, up about 6% from Rs 694.53 crores in FY24. However, the company swung to a wider loss before tax of Rs 78.31 crores (vs Rs 65.34 crores loss in FY24), with a net loss of Rs 61.73 crores versus Rs 48.83 crores previously. Q4 standalone revenue dipped slightly to Rs 186.40 crores, but the company reported a small profit of Rs 2.70 crores in the quarter, helped by an exceptional gain of Rs 13.79 crores. Exceptional items include a Rs 15.31 crore profit from the sale of leasehold rights of the Thane factory land for Rs 75 crores, a Rs 1.53 crore loss on machinery disposal, and a Rs 19.84 crore provision for doubtful dues from Anax Industries. The auditor (Batliboi & Purohit) issued an unmodified opinion with an Emphasis of Matter regarding a Rs 49.49 crore outstanding public fixed deposit liability linked to Bilcare Limited.
Despite top-line growth, widening losses and high debt (total borrowings of ~Rs 684 crores against equity of Rs 432 crores) remain concerns for shareholders. The Thane land sale provides one-time relief, but the Rs 19.84 crore Anax provision and continued Bilcare-related fixed deposit exposure add uncertainty. The stock may remain under pressure until the company demonstrates a path to operating profitability.
