Captain Pipes Ltd reported Q1 FY26 standalone revenue from operations of Rs 2,094.36 lakhs, marginally up from Rs 2,077.39 lakhs in Q1 FY25 (less than 1% growth). However, standalone profit after tax dropped sharply to Rs 86.83 lakhs from Rs 157.65 lakhs, a decline of about 45%, pulled down by higher depreciation (Rs 37.83 lakhs vs Rs 22.60 lakhs) and higher finance costs (Rs 41.90 lakhs vs Rs 32.89 lakhs). On a consolidated basis, including its share of profit from associate Captain Polyplast Ltd (Rs 61.70 lakhs), PAT stood at Rs 148.53 lakhs. The statutory auditor (J C Ranpura & Co) issued an unmodified limited review report on both sets of results. No investor complaints were pending during the quarter.
The sharp standalone PAT decline despite stable revenue signals cost pressure and margin compression, which is negative for near-term earnings sentiment. Consolidated numbers are cushioned by associate company income, so the underlying standalone business performance has weakened compared to last year.
