Captain Pipes Ltd reported FY2026 standalone revenue of Rs 7,773 lakhs, marginally up 1.3% from Rs 7,675 lakhs in FY2025. However, standalone profit after tax declined sharply by 33% to Rs 294 lakhs from Rs 441 lakhs, mainly due to surging finance costs (up 75% to Rs 254 lakhs) and more than doubled depreciation (up 130% to Rs 211 lakhs). Consolidated PAT fell 20% to Rs 698 lakhs, which includes Rs 404 lakhs share of profit from associate Captain Polyplast Ltd. Total borrowings nearly doubled to Rs 3,122 lakhs, with short-term borrowings tripling to Rs 1,447 lakhs. The company raised Rs 980 lakhs through equity issuance. Capital work-in-progress reduced from Rs 1,019 lakhs to Rs 35 lakhs, indicating major capex completion.
The sharp PAT decline despite flat revenue signals margin compression and higher debt costs. Significant increase in borrowings raises leverage concerns. However, the auditor issued an unmodified opinion and operating cash flow turned positive at Rs 1,016 lakhs, providing some comfort to shareholders.
