Captain Polyplast Ltd (BSE: 536974) has reported its audited financial results for Q4 and FY ended 31 March 2025, with the board approving the same at its meeting on 10 May 2025. Standalone revenue from operations grew modestly to around ₹29,770 lakhs (FY24: ~₹28,977 lakhs), about 2.7% YoY. Standalone profit after tax (PAT) jumped sharply to ₹3,830 lakhs (FY24: ₹888 lakhs), translating to basic EPS of ₹5.48 vs ₹0.90 in the previous year. A large part of this surge came from an exceptional gain of ₹1,560 lakhs from the sale of equity shares of associate Captain Pipes Limited; even excluding this, pre-exceptional PAT still more than doubled YoY. The company operates in two segments — micro irrigation systems manufacturing and an IOCL polymer dealership business. Statutory auditors J.C. Ranpura & Co. issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on both standalone and consolidated results, and no investor complaints were pending.
Sharp jump in FY25 earnings is a positive for shareholders, with underlying margins also expanding meaningfully year-on-year. However, investors should note that a sizeable portion of the headline PAT is a one-time exceptional gain from selling Captain Pipes shares, so the full profit level may not be recurring. The clean audit opinion and positive operating cashflows are reassuring.
