Carborundum Universal signs solar PPA, acquires 29.58% stake in Putrim Renewables

Carborundum Universal has signed a Power Purchase Agreement with Putrim Renewables Private Limited (PRPL) for 18 MWp solar power from a captive plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. The company will also acquire a 29.58% equity stake in PRPL for about Rs. 6.48 crores, funded through internal accruals. PRPL is a subsidiary of Cleantech (CSE Development India), incorporated in Feb 2024, and is yet to commence operations. The deal supports CUMI's ESG strategy to boost green power usage across its Tamil Nadu manufacturing facilities and lower its carbon footprint.
