Cello World reported its Q1FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) unaudited results. Revenue from operations grew 6% year-on-year to Rs. 529 crores, driven by a 12% jump in the Consumer Ware segment (Rs. 365.5 crores). Gross profit rose to Rs. 285.6 crores at a record-high margin of 54.0%. However, EBITDA fell 6% to Rs. 126.3 crores with margin contracting 380 basis points to 23.9%, and profit after tax declined 12% to Rs. 73 crores (margin 13.8%) due to higher operational costs from a new glassware facility. Writing Instruments (-12%) and Moulded Furniture (-1%) segments remained weak. Management maintained a positive outlook for H2 FY26, citing expected revival in consumer demand.
Mixed quarter for shareholders: top-line growth and best-ever gross margin are positives, but bottom-line decline and EBITDA margin compression from new facility costs may weigh on near-term sentiment. Investors will watch for stabilization of glassware operations and a recovery in the writing instruments and furniture segments.
