CDSL announced its audited financial results for Q2 and H1 FY26 ending September 30, 2025. On a standalone basis, Q2 FY26 total income stood at ₹290 crore with net profit of ₹128 crore, down from ₹324 crore and ₹171 crore in Q2 FY25. Standalone H1 FY26 net profit rose marginally to ₹280 crore (vs ₹276 crore in H1 FY25), with total income at ₹602 crore (vs ₹545 crore). On a consolidated basis, H1 FY26 net profit dropped sharply to ₹242 crore from ₹296 crore a year ago, while total income was flat at ₹637 crore (vs ₹645 crore). On the business front, CDSL became the first depository to cross 16.51+ crore demat accounts, adding 65+ lakh new accounts in Q2 FY26.
Mixed set of numbers for shareholders — strong operational momentum in account additions (16.51+ crore milestone, 65 lakh new in a quarter), but consolidated profitability fell about 18% YoY in H1 and standalone net profit is declining sequentially. The stock may react negatively to the consolidated earnings dip despite robust account growth, as investors weigh business scale against margin pressure.
