CDSL reported strong annual FY25 results with standalone total income up 33% to ₹985 crore and net profit up 27% to ₹462 crore; on a consolidated basis, total income rose 32% to ₹1,199 crore and net profit grew 25% to ₹526 crore. However, the Q4 quarter showed weakness, with consolidated net profit falling 22% year-on-year to ₹100 crore and total income dipping 4% to ₹256 crore, also down 14% sequentially. The company declared a final dividend of ₹12.50 per share — its highest ever after adjusting for the 1:1 bonus issue in August 2024. CDSL became the first depository to cross 15.29 crore demat accounts, adding 3.73 crore new accounts during the year.
The strong full-year performance and record dividend are positive for shareholders, but the sharp sequential and year-on-year slowdown in Q4 profit may raise near-term concerns about growth sustainability and prompt some profit-booking in the stock.
