CG Power's subsidiary CG Semi Private Limited inaugurated its first Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility in Sanand, Gujarat, making it one of India's first full-service OSAT providers. The project involves an investment of over ₹7,600 crore (~USD 870 million) over five years, developed in partnership with Renesas and Stars Microelectronics. The G1 facility, now operational, has a peak capacity of about 0.5 million units per day, while the G2 facility (under construction, ~3 km away) will scale up to 14.5 million units per day by end of 2026. Together, the two facilities are expected to create over 5,000 direct and indirect jobs, with commercial production targeted for calendar year 2026.
This is a strategic milestone for CG Power, marking its entry into India's semiconductor value chain and aligning with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. The large-scale investment and partnerships with global players like Renesas could position the stock as a key beneficiary of India's semiconductor manufacturing push, though commercial revenue is still about a year away.
