Chalet Hotels has allotted 2,000 Commercial Papers (CPs) on a private placement basis, raising Rs. 100 crore. Each CP has a face value of Rs. 5 lakh and was issued at a slight discount, with total issue proceeds of about Rs. 98.52 crore. The CPs carry a fixed coupon of 6.10% per annum and are rated CRISIL A1+ (highest short-term rating). They are unsecured and have a short tenure of about 3 months, maturing on December 22, 2025. The CPs will be listed on the Wholesale Debt Market (WDM) segment of BSE. This follows the Board's earlier approval in May 2025 for CP issuances.
This is a routine short-term borrowing to manage working capital or liquidity needs. The CRISIL A1+ rating reflects strong credit quality, and the 6.10% coupon is in line with current short-term market rates, so this is unlikely to have any material impact on the stock price.
