CRISIL Ratings has re-affirmed the credit ratings of Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Limited for its bank loan facilities and commercial paper programme. The long-term bank loan rating stands at Crisil AA+ with a Positive outlook, while the short-term bank loan rating and commercial paper rating are both Crisil A1+. The total facility amounts were revised downwards across all categories, with long-term bank loans moving from Rs. 4,000 crore to Rs. 2,000 crore, short-term bank loans from Rs. 4,720 crore to Rs. 3,720 crore, and commercial paper from Rs. 4,500 crore to Rs. 2,500 crore. An additional Rs. 4,573.56 crore of proposed long-term bank loan facilities was also re-affirmed at Crisil AA+/Positive.
The re-affirmation of strong AA+/A1+ ratings with a Positive outlook signals continued strong creditworthiness and low default risk, which is reassuring for shareholders and lenders. The reduction in facility amounts suggests the company is moderating its overall debt exposure rather than facing any financial stress.
