Axis Bank has appointed Kedar Joshi as the new Chief Audit Executive for a three-year term starting June 23, 2025 to June 22, 2028. He replaces Bimal Bhattacharyya, who was serving as interim Chief Audit Executive and will step down from senior management on the same date. Bimal Bhattacharyya is moving to another role within the bank and is not leaving the organisation. Kedar Joshi brings over 25 years of experience in internal audit and risk management, most recently as Regional Head of Corporate Audit at Bank of America covering the APAC region across 12 jurisdictions.
This is a routine internal leadership change with no material impact on shareholders. The appointment of an experienced external candidate for the audit function may strengthen internal controls and governance oversight at the bank.
