Chartered Capital & Investment Ltd reported strong Q1 FY26 results with total income rising about 60% year-on-year to Rs 341.34 lakhs (vs Rs 213.45 lakhs in Q1 FY25), driven mainly by higher other operating income of Rs 293.78 lakhs. Profit before tax grew to Rs 269.80 lakhs (vs Rs 142.45 lakhs), and profit after tax nearly doubled to Rs 200.41 lakhs (vs Rs 100.72 lakhs), a jump of roughly 99% YoY. EPS for the quarter stood at Rs 6.65 compared to Rs 3.34 in the same quarter last year. Total expenses remained broadly stable at Rs 71.54 lakhs. The auditor (FP & Associates) issued an unqualified limited review report with no qualifications or emphasis of matter.
Sharp YoY growth in profits and earnings per share is positive for shareholders and may support the stock price. However, the small absolute size of the business and reliance on 'other operating income' rather than core revenue mean investors should watch the sustainability of these earnings.
