Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company (Chola), an NBFC, has allotted 31,700 secured NCDs worth Rs 317 crores through a private placement on NSE's Electronic Book Building platform. The total issue size is Rs 1,000 crores including a green shoe option of Rs 635 crores. The NCDs carry a coupon rate of 8.08% with a re-issue yield of 8.35%, payable annually on June 5th starting 2026 until maturity on June 5, 2029. The securities are secured at 1x coverage and will be listed on the NSE WDM (Wholesale Debt Market) segment.
This is a routine debt issuance by Chola to raise capital for lending operations. At 8.35% yield, the NCDs are attractively priced compared to current market rates, suggesting good investor appetite. The partial allotment (317 crs of 1,000 crs available) indicates the first tranche has been successfully placed.
