Chowgule Steamships reported Q1 FY26 standalone revenue from operations of ₹83.41 lakhs, down about 9.7% year-on-year from ₹92.40 lakhs in Q1 FY25 and down about 19% from the previous quarter (₹103.05 lakhs). Total income fell to ₹165.27 lakhs vs ₹186.18 lakhs YoY. Despite lower revenues, profit after tax came in at ₹27.98 lakhs (EPS ₹0.08), which was higher sequentially versus ₹21.69 lakhs in Q4 FY25 but sharply lower than ₹50.80 lakhs in Q1 FY25. No exceptional items were recorded, related party transactions were reported as not applicable, and there were no loan defaults. The wholly-owned subsidiary Chowgule Steamships Overseas Limited was dissolved from the Guernsey Registry on June 16, 2025.
The year-on-year drop in both revenue and profit signals continued weakness in the shipping business, though the sequential PAT uptick is mildly positive. Shareholders should note the subsidiary dissolution and keep an eye on whether core shipping operations can stabilise in coming quarters.
