CIE Automotive India reported its highest-ever quarterly consolidated sales of INR25.4 billion in Q1 CY2026, up 16% year-on-year, with consolidated EBITDA margin of 16.9%. India operations posted sales of INR16.2 billion (15% YoY growth) but EBITDA margin dipped to 17.6% from 18.6% a year ago due to gas/material cost inflation from the West Asia conflict, higher Maharashtra energy tariffs, and a one-off subsidy benefit in the base quarter. Europe operations posted sales of INR9.2 billion (17% YoY, flat in euro) with margin recovery to 15.7% from 13.9%, aided by CY25 restructuring. Management won INR3.5 billion in new annual orders this quarter (11% EV-related), spanning iron castings exports, 2-wheeler crankshafts, Mahindra stampings, and forging projects. India capex is expected to scale to INR4-5 billion for CY26, with capacity additions across forging, stamping, and iron casting lines. Risks include aluminum/steel inflation, geopolitical uncertainty, and possible EU volume softness.
Strong consolidated growth and a record-high quarterly performance are positive signals, but near-term margin pressure from commodity inflation and aluminum pass-through dilution in Q2 may limit upside. The strong new order pipeline and capacity expansion support confidence in sustaining growth above industry rates, which is positive for medium-term shareholder value.
