City Union Bank submitted its Q2 FY 2026 investor presentation showing strong business growth with deposits up 21% YoY to Rs. 69,486 crore and advances up 18% to Rs. 57,561 crore, taking total business to Rs. 1,27,047 crore. Net profit for the quarter rose 15% YoY to Rs. 328.6 crore, with ROE improving to 13.35% and ROA steady at 1.59%. Asset quality strengthened sharply with Gross NPA falling to 2.42% (from 3.54%) and Net NPA to 0.90% (from 1.62%), while Provision Coverage Ratio improved to 82%. Capital position remains very strong at 21.68% CRAR. The bank operates 889 branches with strong South India focus (557 in Tamil Nadu).
Shareholders can view this positively - solid double-digit growth in deposits, advances and profits combined with sharp NPA reduction and best-in-class capital adequacy signal a healthy quarter. However, slight YoY NIM compression (3.67% to 3.63%) and rising cost-to-income ratio (47.06% to 49.16%) are minor concerns for margin trajectory.
