City Union Bank has signed a four-party agreement with Centific Global Solutions Inc (technology partner), SASTRA University (knowledge partner), and nStore Retech Pvt Ltd (implementation partner) to set up a Centre of Excellence in AI for Banking (CoE/AIDF). The bank will act as the Business Partner, providing domain expertise, industry insights, and support for developing and testing AI-based banking solutions. The Centre will focus on fraud detection, credit risk analytics, customer behaviour modelling, and regulatory compliance automation. It will also support academic programs, internships, and certifications to build AI talent for banking. A senior executive from the bank will serve as Industry Co-Chair of the Governing Council.
This is a strategic, non-financial collaboration with no equity changes, related-party implications, or immediate cost disclosed, so near-term stock impact is expected to be neutral. Over the longer term, it could help the bank modernise operations, improve fraud and credit risk capabilities, and support digital growth.
