City Union Bank has announced the results of its postal ballot conducted through e-voting. Two resolutions were passed with overwhelming shareholder approval. First, Shri R Mohan (DIN 06902614) was appointed as an Independent Director on the Board through a Special Resolution with 92.76% votes in favour (345.99 million votes) against 7.24% against. Second, the Bank received approval for Issue of Bonus Shares through an Ordinary Resolution with 97.51% votes in favour (362.21 million votes) against 2.49% against. The e-voting period ran from April 30, 2026 to May 29, 2026, with approximately 50.19% of total outstanding shares (743.09 million) participating in the voting.
The appointment of R Mohan as Independent Director strengthens the Board's governance structure. The bonus share issue, approved by 97.51% of shareholders, is a positive signal indicating the Bank's financial health and intent to reward shareholders by increasing their shareholding.
