City Union Bank has successfully completed its postal ballot process through e-voting (April 30 - May 29, 2026). Two resolutions were passed with overwhelming shareholder approval: (1) Appointment of Shri R Mohan as Independent Director passed as a Special Resolution with 92.76% votes in favour (345.99 million votes) and 7.24% against (27 million votes); (2) Issue of Bonus Shares passed as an Ordinary Resolution with 97.11% votes in favour (362.21 million votes) and only 2.49% against (10.79 million votes). Total voter turnout was 50.19% of outstanding shares (372.99 million votes out of 743.09 million). Both resolutions received strong institutional and retail shareholder support.
The near-unanimous approval of bonus shares is positive for existing shareholders as it increases their shareholding without additional investment. The appointment of R Mohan as Independent Director strengthens the bank's board governance. These decisions suggest confidence in the bank's management and are likely to be viewed positively by the market.
