Coal India reported provisional June 2026 production of 57.4 MT, down 0.6% from 57.8 MT last year. Progressive Apr-Jun 2026 production stood at 169.6 MT. Off-take was stronger at 65.8 MT in June, up 7.5% YoY, with progressive off-take at 197.7 MT vs about 191 MT. Subsidiary performance was mixed, with MCL and BCCL posting notable production declines of 18.3% and 11.8% respectively, while SECL and WCL grew. Higher off-take versus production suggests inventory drawdown to meet demand.
Marginal production dip but strong off-take growth. Mixed subsidiary performance. Watch for full-quarter trends and demand signals from higher despatches.
