Coal India held its 51st AGM on August 28, 2025 via video conferencing, where 18 proposals were passed, including approval of audited FY25 financial statements and a final dividend of Rs. 5.15/share, taking total FY25 dividend to Rs. 26.50/share. Shareholders also approved related-party transactions with joint ventures Hindustan Urvarak Rasayan (HURL) and Talcher Fertilizers (TFL) for FY26 and FY27, and appointed several directors. For FY 2024-25, Coal India reported a production of 781.06 million tonnes, profit after tax of Rs. 35,302 crore, and EPS of Rs. 57.37, with net worth growing 20% to Rs. 99,105 crore. The Chairman set an FY 2025-26 production target of 875 MT and off-take target of 900 MT, and outlined diversification plans in coal gasification, critical minerals, thermal power, and pump storage projects.
Routine AGM outcome with strong shareholder returns (Rs. 26.50 total dividend) and steady operational performance; the higher FY26 production and off-take targets signal growth ambitions, while diversification into critical minerals and thermal power could create long-term value beyond core coal mining.
